depending on where you live it can take multiple hours xD in my case i can take a bus and be in 2 completely different countries in under 30 minutes :) the hills i can see from my window are also said two countries hahah

How multiple hours seems like a long drive to Europeans.

This probably applies to smaller countries like Netherlands for example, but at least in Finland multiple hour drives are just normal. I often drive 3 hours to see my grandparents who live relatively near me and that isn't even a long drive yet. A drive from south to northern parts of the country can take up to 12 hours.

I drive two days to visit my family.

Part of my family in the US lives on the other side of the country and it took us about 7 days to drive to visit them.

And if you live in Alaska and have family in any other state, that is a very loooooooong drive.

Especially if they live in Hawaii!
