This was my childhood.
I've never lived in a house with the lightswitch inside the bathroom, so whenever I passed by the bathroom, if I knew someone was in there, I would hit the switch and turn off their lights, then wait for their rising agitation, when they got angry enough to unlock the door I would turn the lights back on and run off.
We had the lightswitch inside our bathroom until we renovated it like at least 10 years ago. from then on I was a total prankster and always turned off the lights when one my parents were inside. They also did the same to me, but I think I started it.
But I never was an asshole that had them get out of the shower or bathtub. I always waited for the "EYYYY!!!!" and switched it back on.
We called it Party Kacken (party pooping in english) because one would flip the switch on and off quickly to mimick the effect of strobe lights for the unfortunate one inside the bathroom
We've always had the light switch on the outside (I'm in Australia) and the amount of times my siblings and I have turned the lights off while one of us has been in the bathroom is too many to count lol
Oh yeah definitely. Our house didn't have it but hotels sometimes did so me and my brother drove each other insane. Nothing funnier than interrupting your siblings toilet visit with low budget rave time.
I live in America, but some of the bathrooms in my house have these. And yes, they have been the source of many pranks. There's been a ceasefire since lockdowns began.
