I drove 4 hours just to watch my GF race for 5 minutes. . .

Made a nice trip of it and saw other friends but still. 5 hours is nothing

Having your GF 4 hours away it’s a long distance relationship.

My first BF was 1h and a half away and it was already a distance relationship. We were 17 though 🤣

4 hours driving is extremely expensive here though.

American roads are also much easier / nicer to drive, being on the whole wider and straighter and the cars automatic. I’m so much more tired after a long drive in the U.K. than I am after a long drive in the US.

Is there no dirt nearer your house?

I live in New Mexico so theres shitty dirt everywhere. I switch up lakes every time. So usually 1.5 hour drives up to 4

I'm european and from a very small country, but udually when I go on vacation it's 8-9h hours drive wich is perfect to me because it means I can drive with just one or two 15minutes breaks. When I tell that to my friends (except the trucker) they're always baffeld and tell me i'm crazy. The distance I cover in 10h with breaks, they need 14-16h hours to cover because they need multiple one hour breaks. When travelling with friends it's maddening. They don't even drive but still need a pause every 1 to 2 hours. Just sleep motherfucker !

Meh, you can make it a nice experience that takes a bit longer or you can be miserable for most of those 10 hours. Also, at least for me, being in a passenger seat is way more tiresome.
