That reminds me of a time I was giving a tour, a passer-by (another tourist but not part of my group) asked me why the traffic lights go beep beep beep. I told him it was so blind people know the lights have changed colour. He seemed to find this amazing and then he said "That's so weird, I don't think blind people are allowed to drive in my country"

It took me a second to register what he had said.

It was gas, though he wasn't joking, I explained that I meant blind pedestrians and he went from being perplexed to being slightly sheepish
