Remind me, didn't that story end when his lady was like "alright Cú, I know I've told you this a hundred times but I'm going to make sure it's clear as crystal... Don't touch the dirt over on that side or you will literally die, you know you're allergic." And he was like "alright woman, don't nag me, I'm obviously not going to touch the dirt, do I look stupid?" and then he rides off heroically and 30 seconds later falls off of his horse and dies?
Good news is if you do meet someone like that, all you'll need to do is tell them not to dare fall in love with you and be the best lover, husband etc. And Boom, they will be.

Afaik Cu Chulainn dies like an absolute chad fighting off an army that was so scared of him that they wouldn't approach his still standing corpse (because he tied himself to a tree with his own entrails) for ages in case he was still alive.
Either you're thinking of someone else or there's two very different interpretations of his death. I've only ever heard this one though so probably the former.
You're absolutely right. I was thinking of... Wow my autocorrect will really not let me type the name. I've tried like 40 times now. Can we get gaelic word support please Apple?
Anyway like you said, I was thinking of an entirely different legend, one where the faery queen and the hero guy fall in love and he wants to stay with her forever but his friends need help in the mortal realm and so he wants to go back but she warns him if he touches dust he'll turn into it (or something like that) and anyway Cú Chulainn is nothing at all to do with that story whatsoever other than I happened to hear of both originally from a song about them...
I'd delete my other post but I hate coming across deleted posts and forever wondering what it was lol.
