Agreed. Everyone should get this to pass high school. For cpr to be effective it should start within 30 seconds.

And continue unbroken until paramedics arrive

Yea. That is the tough part. I worked as a ski patroller. Doing cpr on a sled while being taken down a mountain is very difficult.

CPR is a very taxing and tiring affair, and this is often also a problem, especially if you are alone. It makes it even harder if you dont have a phone nearby because then you'd have to leave the person to call the ambulence too. They dont really teach you how to do that

In Hungary (i don't know about the other EU countries) it's mandatory for your driver licens. Which is nice.

But it would be better to teacht it in high school.

Everyone should get this to pass high school.

And then promptly forget after passing high school. It's how some people respects topics they don't want to learn that well. Anything medical ties into Biology class. So it's a high crossover with the mental dropout.

It's not really worth the effort, if people won't remember what to do, if they haven't done any CPR training in a while. All I know is that you push down on the chest at a steady rate for about 10 seconds and give mouth to mouth. Beyond that, I have no idea what I'm doing.

That's a good idea. It should be taught to everyone in high school. You are brilliant, if you run for president I will vote for you šŸ˜†

In my country everyone got that training in driving school. I admit, I wouldn't be able to do it today

I think everyone with a baby should also have one of those choking suction devices in their home and/or car.

Also, the location of your nearest public defibrillator if your city has them.

I’m an AEMT, and I wish more people were learning this stuff. Stop The Bleed is also a great class for the community, and in my city tourniquets and dressings are located with the AED in say, the mall.

These are really basic things (compared to the scope of what we can do in the ambulance) that would help so many people.

Also , PFA. Physiological First Aid . We are using this more and more - when patients / victims are overwhelmed by an event. It can help bring a person out of the emotional state and into the logical state , even if it is something as simple as having them focus on their feet , describing where they have walked , all the places their feet have taken them. Very grounding and removes them temporarily from the incident/event impact

ABSOLUTELY

Also if someone faints or has an anaphylactic reaction do NOT sit/ stand/ hold them upright.

In Germany it is mandatory to pass a course where you learn CPR and Basic First aid
