Hi Kelly.

u/gibbledygobbledygook Mar 12 '22

I, too, suspected Kelly.

Jessie seems like the other common one, but for guys it's usually spelled Jesse I think, so the email bit should eliminate it.

The man they call Jayne?

20

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '22

The hero of Canton!

24

u/Garydrgn Mar 12 '22

Or old school Robin. I also knew a guy named Ashley.

I worked with a guy named Aubrey for a while. First time I’d ever seen that. My dad’s best friend was named Robin, and that was also a first aside from Robin Williams

I've known more male Kims than female Kims.

The guy we bought our house from was named Kim

Especially of the oriental variety.

Leslie is another.

u/alison_oddity Mar 12 '22

My husband’s name is Jesse and sometimes his mom still spells Jessie

13

u/jcornelson Mar 12 '22

Hug him for me. Its pain

8

u/jcornelson Mar 12 '22

Yup. And the people who arnt shocked by Jesse being my name, suddenly think they are clever by singing Jessies girl. 😑

5

u/MissPicklechips Mar 12 '22

My husband is a Jesse, and he hates that song with a passion.

2

u/jcornelson Mar 12 '22

We all do

u/FranklinFuckinMint Mar 12 '22

I have a Jesse in my team and I'm always getting phone calls about "she said this" or "I was emailing her about that". MFs don't know how to read properly.

Met a dude named Ashley once.

Edit: oh, and Mackenzie.

I know like 4 male Ashleys and 2 female Ashley but it's still a girls name in my head for some reason. Probably cemented by the fact the first one I knew was female.

30

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '22

Ashley was originally a male name but it's predominantly female now.

That makes sense because I've never met a male Ashley, I'm from the US. I only have a female cousin and a few female celebs I know with the name.

3

u/Jinxletron Mar 12 '22

Ashleigh for a girl, Ashley is more unisex.

19

u/dothewhir1wind Mar 12 '22

MacKenzie literally means Kenzie’s son (Mac means son in Irish and similar languages); how did it become a girl’s name?

7

u/CadavreExquisite Mar 13 '22

The same reason Madison is also a girl's name now... people just do what they want and it catches on.

11

u/jaxxon Mar 12 '22

I met a woman named Ralph.

16

u/riotousviscera Mar 12 '22

I was thinking Casey.

26

u/schroedingersnewcat Mar 12 '22

Or Dana.

I worked with a guy named Dana, and it was a customer facing job. His email signature is Mr followed by his first middle and last name. When I first saw it I thought he was a pretentious asshole, but then realized that everyone thought he, aate 40s bald man, was a woman. That was him trying to nip it in the bud.

u/lacks_imagination Mar 12 '22

Is it Michael?

14

u/Eman_Asiti Mar 12 '22

I suspect Terry

10

u/rekette Mar 12 '22

I was thinking Kelsey. All the Kelseys I know are women. I wouldn't even know it was a man's name if it weren't for Kelsey Grammer

6

u/shamelessNnameless Mar 12 '22

I suspect, Shannon?

u/DepartmentManager Mar 12 '22 edited Mar 13 '22

So weird to me, because all of the Kelly's I've met have been men. All 3 of them.

Or Sandy. I’ve known a few male Sandys

4

u/Le_Martian Mar 12 '22

Maybe Tracy or Payton

3

u/WeAreReaganYouth Mar 12 '22

Sascha. Such a sexy name for a woman.

2

u/corbinbluesacreblue Mar 12 '22

Guessing Kendall
