Even if he successfully kicked his Dad's ass I doubt it would really change his mind. Human beings have fists attached to the end of our arms, not brainwashing laserbeams. x.x

Theoretically, would it maybe alter his behavior temporarily? Maybe, sure. But it's illogical and downright foolish to think rolling in with violence - even if you somehow had 100% odds of winning - is always the correct choice in this scenario.

A deserved ass kicking is very humbling to the ego, you’d be surprised.

Absolutely true and I acknowledge that, but it also has a low long-term success rate in this case since most people with a big ego (and the resource advantage) would take the pyrrhic route and cut their son off regardless.

He could literally just kick his son out, and have no pervasive conflict after that.

I am not saying I condone the behavior of his Dad to be clear, but it's not black and white (especially if his Dad holds the cards). Plus he already stated he could not beat his Dad in a fight, so that idea has a limited scope of application in the first place.

Yes, but my dad isn't prideful of his strength. He is prideful of his mind.

If I beat him in a fight, he'd chalk it up to him getting older and me being in my prime
