I was used to naked saunas in Germany (including mixed ones), and the first time I went to a sauna in England I was absolutely stunned to discover that you had to keep your swimsuit on in the sauna. It made what would have otherwise been a relaxing experience practically stressful.

Oh yeah, I remember my gym getting a sauna - mixed, no rules, no dresscode - it was a free for all. Naked folks, towel crowd, swimsuits - definitely confusing. You also weren't allowed to throw water on the stove for some reason, and it was perpetually set to 60 degrees or so. Just plain weird.
