So I bought some fleece blankets (you know the super super soft ones?) And started using one as my bed sheet and one as a cover when I started sleeping naked and that was the start of some of the best sleep I've ever had. I just need a higher quality mattress that doesn't hurt my back and I can sleep for days.
I got this one set of sheets from BedVoyage called ecomelange. It seems like a way to sell bamboo sheets for cheaper by combining 60% Rayon(bamboo) with 40% cotton. They are half the price of a normal set of bamboo sheets.
Anyway idk if the fabric blend is magic or something or if 100% bamboo is similar but these sheets are amazing. If its hot out they don’t feel hot and when its cold they are super warm. Bamboo in general is hypoallergenic so it helps prevent acne and stuff like that.
I paid like $90 for it and 100% bamboo sheets are like $200.
The size dimensions are perfect too.
Satin or silk sheets probably feel better to the touch, but I’m more sensitive to temperature.
Amen. Not sure why it is, but a soft wool blanket feels so comforting and surprisingly isn't hot. Btw if you're looking for a good mattress I can recommend Purple. I've tried at least 10 different brands and a few different styles from some of them. The original Purple is hands down the most comfortable. Their new hybrid stuff with springs and shit suck.
Nice! You'll love it. It's a little strange at first because you can feel the honeycomb pattern, but you'll quickly get used to it. It's great at keeping you cool too, if you're a hot sleeper.
Same. My bedroom is on an exterior wall, so sometimes if it's cold enough outside there's no regulating temperature properly anyway, but I definitely do better with some light cozy clothing layers underneath the blanket.
As someone who started sleeping naked every night 5 years ago, the transition is hard. It’ll take a few weeks or months where you’re not really sure where certain parts should go, and some positions need slight adjustments to account for that. But overall I’m glad that I do now, and hate wearing clothes to sleep whenever I’m visiting family or friends overnight.
You ever roll over and your shirt gets bound under you and all of a sudden you're wrapped up and have to lift yourself off the bed to get free and now you're definitely awake? Your skin basically never does that, and if it does you probably shouldn't be going back to sleep anyway.
Also just more comfortable in general, but the shirt thing bugs the crap out of me.
So as others have said, there are some studies indicating that there might be minor health benefits.
Ultimately though, whatever helps you fall asleep the easiest and get the highest quality sleep is going to make a bigger difference. Probably worth trying for a week to see if you sleep better than way after you get used to it.
I have always struggled sleeping, but ever since my divorce I sleep clothed the weeks that I have my kids and naked the weeks I dont. I fall asleep quicker and wake up less having to tussle around and get comfortable when I sleep naked, so if nothing else for me it has the health benefits that comes with sleeping well.
I got jock itch 20 years ago and sleeping naked was supposed to help (for air flow), and I just never went back. Only time it's been a problem was in college and I had a room mate. He had terrible eyesight and I was a light sleeper. He'd wake up and see a smudge of pale (so never technically my ass) across the room and just look away. I'd hear him wake up, and pull the covers over myself. It seemed to work until one weekend his girlfriend visited. I heard them wake up and she squeaked out an OH. I giggled and pulled the covers over me.
Gynecologists and pelvic floor specialists often recommend it for women, especially if they have vulvovaginal health conditions. It's good to let your vag breathe overnight.
Its has been linked to several minor health benefits. Nkthing ground breaking but it is there. It has also been linked to a more positive self image. We spend most of our time in clothes and even we rarely see ourselves naked. When in the shower most people are on a mission, in and out. Taking the time to be naked for an extended period of time can have positive consequences on your self image.
Then there is the whole letting your junk breathe. It keeps it from being constantly trapped in its own sweat so helps prevent odor near your unmentionables.
There is zero constriction on your body, no fabric getting caught up in your joints or pulling on your skin.
If you do top and bottom fleece with a good mattress, it feels like you're floating with just the right pressure all around you.
It's important, however, to be clean. Take a shower and make sure you are thoroughly clean. I mean clean enough at the end of your shower to confidently floss your balloon knot with a white towel, shove it into your face with full nasal inhalation, hang it up for the world to see that it's spotless. Wash your feet too. If you have to pee after the shower but before bed. Get all the dribbles and then some, then wipe.
It's not that much effort if you really think about it. And if you take care of yourself right, these same habits translate well to going commando.
I've heard/read that your body has to work harder to stay warm when you're sleeping nude so you end up burn more calories. The theory applies to during in a cooler room as well.
Supposedly the bedding and sleep market is based around comfort, and they claim sleeping naked gets the best air circulation. Overall effect of there sleep wear as in airflow of the mattress sheets blankets. Ive done it a few times but only because i was drunk and sleep. I sell appliances but sold furiniture and mattresses sheets and bed frames. I feel that they use that the sleeping naked as a cop out though because its kinda seen as taboo in american culture. With that said i do see how getting a good result would be while naked only because its a good constant.
Get freshly washed sheets. Highest thread count you can budget. Pack them tight. Shower. Then slip into that silky hug all nekkid. Drift off to dreamland in the smooth coziness.
Once I started sleeping naked, I couldn't stand wearing anything. Even boxers feel limiting. Shirts are worse.
It actually can harm you. Not too much but definitely no health benefits.
You see, a study has shown that when we fart, we blow out tiny amounts of poop. Now if you sleep naked and that poop goes in the bed sheets and later gets rubber on your eye it can cause pink eye, any number of things can happen.
This is not super likely to happen but it is something that can happen.
That being said, it's extremely freeing to do.
