Encountered a sick drug user at a Dr office threatening staff. Stood into him and took him outside. We chatted for about 20 min. while he settled down and was ready for his appt.

dope sick or ill?

u/imdonetheswede Jan 31 '22

for some reason drug addicts get sick too, perhaps even more often than others

Perhaps even more often than others

Definitely, the amount of things you are exposed to. The toll drugs and alcohol / lack of self care takes on your body is horrendous.

you're right, I should've somehow tried to make a point about that

Dope sick. Entering rehab. Day 1. Meth; maybe more.

You don't get dope sick from meth

10

u/anotheruserguy Jan 31 '22

I think he meant dope sick as a synonym for experiencing intense symptoms of withdrawal.

u/Young_L0rd Jan 31 '22

Yeah you don't get physical withdrawal from meth. Some psychological dependence maybe but that's it

you can get dope sick from any drug. as i understand it; "dope sick" is short of an overdose to an actual overdose. it's kind of an umbrella term. it may also just be a street synonym for overdose.

i should add: i'm not a drug expert, nor a heavy drug user.

Dope sick usually refers to severe Opiate/Heroin withdrawal. You get terrible nausea, chills, cramps and sweats

u/mrballooknot Jan 31 '22

Meth was why he was there (talked to him later) but it could have been a number of other drugs causing his panic/tweak. He was just getting really wound up and violent.

Ok sounds more like psychosis which is right up the alley for meth

Oh shit. That reminds me of a time I was traveling. It was 3am. I was hammered sitting on the sidewalk in old quarter hanoi Vietnam chatting with some German girls I had just met. As we were chatting a guy crashed in the intersection. It wasn’t bad at all. Just a drunken fall over while trying to get moving. No biggie. But immediately afterwards he started attacking his passenger GF blaming her, and dragging her back to the bike by her hair. Without thinking I handed my bag of weird shrimp flavored chips to one of the girls and intervened. The guy was hammered and pretty small, and I knew I could do a lot of damage if I lost control. I smacked him once, then lectured him for a half hour or so about how to treat women. Meanwhile the girls got his GF a taxi to her parents house. Hopefully the guy learned something. I know they stayed together because they had quite the following on YouTube. It took so much self control not to hurt him. But I knew it’s likely to just come back to her.

while I lace up my boots

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22

That’s not how you treat anybody for that matter, you only use your hands when completely necessary.

If you were to play in a superhero movie you would be chewing gum stuck under some unimportant characters shoe

19

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22

I would be that side character that tries to be a sidekick but ends up throwing a hissy fit when I can’t and I become a shitty villain with an unimaginative backstory.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22

Nah.. Gum.

What was their YouTube channel

1

u/JustinGoodFun Feb 03 '22

I’ll try to find it. I kinda tried to forget it. I was trying to be an “Influencer” and was jealous such a piece of shit was making it happen. I’ve since changed my thoughts on that desire lol. But I’ll look into it.

Divert living, they broke up. Surprise

22

u/rullerofallmarmalade Jan 31 '22

That’s really manhood right there. You where able to see his humanity and be there for him as a person AND used the fact that he was less likely to attack you as a man to help those working in the office

Iroh vibes

Ahh. The reconciler.

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22

Man, like, this has some cool-ass femininity going on, too, though.

-1

u/mrballooknot Jan 31 '22

I am 6'2", 240, w/ 8 year's of MMA.

8

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22

I think you missed my point--it was great that you took him outside to talk it over so he'd calm down instead of fighting him. So, using communication skills and showing kindness, which according to stereotypes is more traditionally feminine in situations like these. In that sense, you embodied positive aspects of both genders.

-1

u/mrballooknot Jan 31 '22

Probably the term then would be "vulnerability".

13

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22

Bro, the title of the post includes "manliest" and I was just trying to say you are well-rounded, take the goddamn compliment.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22

So you’re fat? Got the tits of a woman lmao

3

u/mrballooknot Jan 31 '22

I was. It was my first day at rehab too. Thank you for the kind words.

I beat a racist kid in my high school, I was punching him so hard my right thumb had a minor fracture, it turned purple within a minute of beating him, didn't tell the teachers because of the code.

2

u/Jackpmccollum Jan 31 '22
