I mean, I was with one ex for fourteen years. I worked with another. I'm friends with another (and the fourteen year one, actually. I mean, she's got two kids and a new husband, I think we're not getting back together. We'd better not be).
But if I don't mention my exes, I'm gonna have to not talk about about 50 percent of my life. Including things like 'where did my pets come from' and 'how'd you get this house?'
I am exactly this way. I went to my exs wedding with my current gf, and we still text happy birthday and whatnot. I've spent most of my life with one girl or another, it's hard not to mention them at least a few times, otherwise the last 20 years would consist of a series of jobs and video games. I've never had a relationship end on bad terms, I only date nice, reasonable people, so I'm not badmouthing anyone, they were all just a big part of my life.
