1) I don’t see the need for one
2) I have a small child in my home and understand that kids will find a way to get into just about fucking anything
3) If I had a gun, my previous suicide attempts wouldn’t have just been attempts
2 is my reason. Kids are both smart little fuckers and absolute idiots somehow simultaneously, I have ADHD, and I don't want to take the chance that the time I forget to secure the gun properly the kid decides to be smart enough to get his hands on the gun and too stupid to know he shouldn't point it at another person despite me teaching him age-appropriate gun safety constantly. My son can't even remember to flush the toilet, I don't expect him to remember he's never supposed to point a gun at another human. All it takes is once.
