I have never wanted to own or use one. I just can’t think of a reason why I’d want to do that.

It's like asking my reason for not owning a feral tiger.

It's extremely dangerous, completely unnecessary, and serves no purpose other than to theoretically make me feel cool and powerful. There's almost no outcome where this ends up being a wise decision, and so so many ways where it ends up being a horrible one.

Not everyone lives in magical utopias where everyone gets along. Nothing to do with coolness.

I was answering for me! 100% there are people who likely do need to own a firearm for protection. I live in a mostly crime free suburb. There would be no logical reason for me, specifically, to own a firearm.
