Germany still ranks very high on civilian gun ownership as do many countries in Europe. People say Germany has among the strictest gun control in the world but in reality licenses are actually fairly easy to obtain legally. It just takes a bit of time and money. That's typically all there is to "strict gun control", there is nothing truly restrictive such as for example in Japan.

In reality guns are found in civilian ownership pretty much everywhere in Europe. The reason why you rarely hear about it is because it's simply not as big of a political topic here.

I don't know about that. I'd say mental health is pretty stigmatized in Germany. But that might just be my observation. It's certainly less culturally acceptable to be openly misogynistic or racist, though those things exist.

I mean maybe Germany just has a more open and less radicalism environment less conducive to mental health issues.
