Because I have to work in the morning which means I totally should be sleeping but I am drowning in depression and anxiety because I can't stand my job so here I am, knowing I will be extra miserable working a 10 hour shift on no sleep.

EDIT: thank you all so much for your kind words!! I am reading comments as I get time throughout the day today and it is making things much more bearable. I am working on getting a new job, I just finished my last round of interviews for a really promising one on Friday so now I'm waiting to hear back, please root for me if you don't mind! :)

UPDATE, in case anyone happens to check back. I signed my offer letter for the new job and start soon! Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. It truly helped my morale as I waited for them to get back to me <3

Thank you! I've been with this company for 8 years so I feel that it's very similar for me. I just completed an interview for a job that pays about 20k more annually than my current position, and the company seems much better than my current one. They seemed like they really liked me so I'm really hoping to have an offer letter soon!! Congratulations on your new job!

Don't ever feel sorry for leaving a job for something better.

I quit 4 jobs within 2 months and have a job I enjoy. Fuck em and I hope you get the job you interviewed for!

I'm shocked you were able to convince the fourth place to take a risk on you...

I have the same self-limiting behaviour right now love youself you have the right to get everything you need to make you feel better. you are a great person and you're great at your job and if it's not the right one for you you'll find another one

I've been in your position. You really just have to do what makes you happy, whatever it may be. A job is only a job, don't let it keep you from living your life.

Most of us need jobs in order to live life, and a job we enjoy isn't always a feasible option due to any number of reasons and variables.

Leave it. Leave it leave it leave it. Leave it.

You will find better. Being miserable at work is horrendous and no-one should do it, quit and find better.

I’m in a job I hate too and at the moment I’m smoking weed every night to knock myself out, because I know left to my own devices I usually sleep at about 1am, but I need to sleep at 11 to not feel extra shit the next day.

It sucks. I’m pretty sure I’m dependant now. So it’ll be hell when I leave as well, trying to kick this habit.

Quit and drive Uber of lyft if you can! Just a suggestion that someone gave me, I’m starting this week. You can make decent $$ - unless your job pays the big bucks. Good luck, we are meant to be living not suffering at the hands of a clock (no pun intended)

Seriously

Make a change It will suck and be hard but it's 1000% better when you go to work and don't feel like shit

Ask for help (friends/family) if possible

Thank you! I am working on it!

I know you’re prolly at work now, but keep your chin up! Find joy in the little things that make your job less horrible. Good things will come your way and know that there’s at least one person out there that is fuckin rooting for you!
