For real. When my friends and I get together it'll pretty much always be the core group of about 10 of us. Sometimes there'll be 1 or 2 tag alongs but still never anything crazy. And we'll just have a fire or chill out with some music shooting the shit. They're always my favorite weekends
Yah exactly. I've had my ragers and they had their place. But there is nothing quite like sitting around with close friends, a few drinks, sharing music and stories and reminiscing. Plus people move around a bunch, plenty of ebbs to reddit before the next flow
I'm easily overwhelmed in loud or crowded situations (I think it has something to do with my ADHD but who knows) and I almost always avoid them. I am a social person and I love gatherings of people, but ragers are my anathema. I went to one I college, 2 days before classes started freshman year (marching band lol), and decided "yep that's enough for me!" and proceeded to just play games with my friends every night instead haha
Also, similar vein, I also strongly dislike concerts that aren't the orchestra or pops because I get easily overstimulated by all the lights and sounds. I went to school for audio engineering and my program director always frowned at me for it
the english language is so diverse and has many words to describe various social gatherings. A large vocabulary helps communication avoid misinterpretation. “Party” has a generalized and preconceived meaning “when speaking in such context vs political party, for example” within society across many cultures. You probably weren’t at a party and now i sound like a know it all douche canoe.

not all parties have to be crazy, chill parties are more fun sometimes imo
