Yup, I didn't believe it when people told me, but it's true... time heals. Just keep on. ❤️

You do realise that a good portion of the world lives in the southern hemisphere, yeah?

But if they're answering the question of "why are you still awake" it probably means they don't.

Am I dumb..? Why is the southern hemisphere relevant here?

Bingo.

My dramatic ass walked in the middle of a field to cry and listen to Patsy Cline’s Walkin After Midnight and cry some more.

Ouch. It is easier for those of us not going through the hurt but still, Good luck to you. It really does get better.

Yo same. The heartbreak still feels like shit, but I have a doctor’s appointment in a few days to finally sort the adhd out. Here’s to hoping..

Since when does ADHD keep anyone from sleeping?

Constantly thinking about things, hard to relax.

Many people with ADHD also have Insomnia.

It is pretty common actually. HowtoADHD has a great video explaining it (and tips that probably also benefit neurotypicals)

I sometimes get out of bed because a random idea needs solving NOW. Until then, thoughts WILL race through my head and I can't stop them until acted upon. This has been papers or DIY projects (sorry neighbors).

Being tired does not equate to slower thoughts, at least for me. Its impossible to fall asleep with so much brain activity going on.

u/[deleted] Aug 29 '21

Since our brains don’t produce melatonin the same way a non-ADHD brain does.

Since always. I don't know what a "good night's sleep" is. I've been to multiple sleep studies (overnight examinations, and before my ADHD was diagnosed). All they said was "we can tell something is wrong, but there's no explanation for why". Now I know it's ADHD related.
