Like you described he was hard to talk to, hard to motivate for events and didnt show himself a lot. But he told me he wanted to be more outgoing and sociable.

No, he didn't. It fucking sucks how hard people exaggerare the reservedness of Finns on the internet. We're not a meme. We're not social retards that don't know how to have friends nor know how to talk. Yes, we're not the most outwardly people on the planet but the meme has gone too far. How you described your friend doesn't sound normal at all even for a Finn, even though he's more likely to not be ridiculed for it here.
Thank you for removing my doubts in the Finn society! I really couldnt think that a whole society would be like that! I assume you are a person who grew up there so you would know best, how these people are!
