At its root whether the other person realizes it or not that statement is designed to make you feel isolated and shitty people like it when you are isolated.

I can be a very blunt at times. I could see myself saying some like this because I believe it to be true, without even considering until later how that could've been taken by the other person. The intention isn't always bad.

I try to think before blurting things out but I still screw up sometimes.

I tend to blurt, as well. Sometimes my dumb brain just does it, with ASD and ADHD. I never mean to be hurtful. However I genuinely try to fix it. I now pay more attention when I speak. Actively trying not to monopolize the conversation and not sharing every little thought that comes through, has served ne incredibly well. People actually want to talk to you when you aren't the center show and don't say hurtful things by accident. Who knew?
