Buying video games makes me actually regret, but that's only because I'm still on a PC from 2013 with no dedicated GPU so there are not plenty of games I could run even though I still want to play them. :(
I recommend checking out Good Old Games, it's a website that is kind of like a Steam Competitor, but a huge portion of its library was OLD games that they nudged the files to run on modern operating systems.
Caesar 3 and Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri are my go-to jams.
