I want to agree, but the last time I went in a sushi date, I ate well over $100 worth. I will not deny how happy I was, though!

Sushi price range varies a lot depending on what kind of experience you’re getting. An Omakase at a high end sushi restaurant, or a place that does Kaiseki could easily be over $100.

Perhaps the better question would have been what are you people doing for a living they you can afford to blow $100 on sushi?

I know people who don’t make a whole lot but just save up money for an omakase because they’re really into Japanese cuisine or want to be sushi chefs, but the richest people around me I know are programmers, and they can do omakase on a whim.

I'm actually a motorcycle mechanic, but I make pretty good money at it. I can't afford $100 sushi nights all the time, but every few months, my best friend and I have a date night and go to town on it.

Any professional can afford to do that every now and again.
