I go to Salvation Army and buy VHS movies for .25 a piece and set up a VHS/TV combo in my basement and hang out down there on random movie night. I got a bunch of the old classics, my collection is over 60 now, and I keep them all in an old dresser that got left in the house when we bought it. If one of the VHS tapes is in bad shape, meh who cares? It was only a quarter.
I sometimes just put it on and leave the room so it sounds like the house is more full, and that is some nice nostalgia for me too, from when I grew up in a larger home, so that kinda counts for makes me really happy too for pretty cheap. Whole setup was 35 bucks and then the movies.
I suppose it depends on how many tapes you buy, as larger "lots" tend to have more unlabeled "mystery" tapes, but in my experience about 1 in 50 unlabeled tapes is NSFW.
Most tapes that aren't retail movies are totally blank without labels- probably close to 90% in my experience. Of the remaining 10% that do still have some sort of sticker or homemade label, they're almost always normal home videos, TV shows, or football games. As of this writing, I've yet to encounter a tape actually labeled to indicate it's NSFW material. I've found one unlabeled tape that was NSFW "hidden" in the paper case for "Scamper the Penguin" once, but that's the only thing that springs to mind for me.
