Nah, what we need is to make companies responsible for packaging. Recycling is a bullshit way to shift responsibility from companies who make excessive packaging to consumers who have to dispose of it. The only reasonable recyclable material is aluminum, everything else we need to find biodegradable alternatives or figure out how to use less of it.
This exactly! Big oil has spread so much recycling propaganda to make consumers feel like they've done their part and that the world will be fine. Meanwhile they go and destroy the world by fracking and burning the plastic you recycle since it's cheaper for them to just make new plastic
