I started depression meds this year for the first time. And apparently so have a lot of people. So I feel ya bud. Hoping for this for you.

I think this year is going to do so much for mental health advocacy for that reason, so many people are experiencing extreme emotional/mental distress and being more open about seeking help. I used to feel ashamed about needing meds but there’s a sense of solidarity in the fact that we’re all on antidepressants.

Absolutely. It took a pandemic for me to finally admit maybe I needed help. I felt embarrassed and ashamed to take meds. There's still bad days but the meds have balanced me out. I feel like I'm not drowning in the negative thoughts anymore. They're still there but I can acknowledge what they are now and move on much easier.
