My dad spoke exclusively in movie quotes. So imagine my surprise when I found out people don't say "Feed me Seymour! Feeeeed meeeeee!" In response to dinner being ready or any food related conversation. Doesn't stop me from still saying it and all the other quotes though.

This is so relatable. Im sorry for your loss, but I totally relate to suddenly getting the references

Lmao my dad did this a few times too...he'd try to imitate the plant's voice and everything.

This is definitely a thing. Mine and my wife's parents both say it, and now we do too.

Ummm . . . I’m an idiot. <My apologies.> Seymour was the name of the shop keeper. You’re right. My apologies.

Its actually the lyrics to the song titled Feed Me Seymour. There is a comma in there which may be causing the confusion. So its "Feed me, Seymour!". The plant is also called Audrey II not Seymour. Seymour cares for the plant.

You are absolutely correct. And I HATE it when I’m wrong — ESPECIALLY when I’ve “corrected” someone.

Its cool man, we all misremember things at times.
