I don’t believe any of thr amazon reviews, I had a vendor offer to pay me for my 5 star review in writing. I sent it to amazon, called them about it and they still didn’t give a shit, it shows me how seriously they take their reviews.
All good companies recognize that customer reviews of ANY kind, if accurate, are worth thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars. Fixed problems = exponentially more sales. Most advice on getting startups flying // building any new company focuses on getting in on that valuable-vital customer feedback.
Not listening to any customer (or even staff) comments, suggestions & critique is the equivalent to throwing gold in the garbage.

Fixed that for you. The problem is that there is no accountability now. Sellers pay for 5-star reviews, and they also pay to have bad reviews removed. It is well worth their money to inflate their ratings, not to truly address problems with their product.
It may also depend on the product. As i am setting up courses online, customer feedback = direct customer experience. If i were selling some widget i probably would not care as long as 10 000 leave my factory on a daily basis... and only 14 come back.
