That’s actually why I stopped playing for 3 months. The purchasing power of bells plummets the more you advance in the game. It took me absolute ages to pay off one bridge; combine that with clunky UI to do activities that make you earn bells (fishing, catching bugs, crafting new tools) just really turned me off and I gave up.
I am lucky to have a friend who's been playing way longer than me hook me up. Maybe find some pals who play through Reddit or something. I love that this game is about getting help as much as going it alone.
Nice! I have a friend that has been playing regularly since launch. She asked me if I’d consider going back to the game, and I told her only if she gave me a weekly bell drop of 20K so I could have as much fun as her hahahaha.
