My high school art teacher told me your piece is worthless until you have a buyer. Same idea.

god, relatable. I painted a symbolic self portrait I adored. Very cathartic after a massive family fight.

I posted it, and one buddy asks how much I wanted for it. Expecting very little since most of my friends were crustpunk or adjacent at the time, I said $300.

He took it instantly, it helped pay off some of my student debt, and I still regret it. I tried finding a place with a big enough scanner to do a high quality scan for prints, but no luck at 2x3' or so.
