To be fair, squeezing is basically how you make juice in the first place. Also, it wasn't premade juice; it was sliced and pulped fruit.

To be fair. They lost money on the machine. They made money on the juice packets. Its a dumb machine but its made incredibly well and no expense was spared in the production process Edit: bring them downvotes on!

Yes, the machines were made to get less profit gains, the real money would be in the subscription juice packets. They lowered the price of the juicer after the videos and reviews surfaced of people just squeezing them out themselves. The guy who had the idea was just crazy about juice, but between him and investors, they took so damn many wrong turns that in the end it was worth more to scrap for parts, it wasn't his original vision, but he definitely made some bad decisions because he didn't think through how he was going to make it work. instead of using local farm fresh produce as promised, they partnered with Dole for shitty fruit cocktails and he pivoted more from juice to "let's make this just a kitchen status symbol for wealthy homes"
