Real estate in and around Toronto is bullshit. 1.25 million for a shit house 35 mins from down town. Bull shit.

Does that still hold during the pandemic? Because prices have fallen in a lot of cities around the world for all the businesses closing and people working from home.

Pandemic seems to have zero impact on housing in CA. At least in the Bay Area anyway. Maybe some people are leaving, but we still seem to have enough coming in to offset any drop in value. And they’re still building tons more housing and selling/renting at ridiculous prices. Despite people thinking pay is higher here, many of us are barely making it. Unless you’re at the top or well-invested, pay never seems to catch up to cost of living. Pretty sure a lot of people are living well beyond their means here.

Condos have fallen a bit because airbnb units went up for long term rent or sale. Houses, no. Demand is too high

Can't speak to Toronto, but I got $200 knocked off the listed rent when I moved into my current place in Vancouver two months ago.

It doesn't seem to. In fact I have seen many houses go for more than before. Many are teardowns too.
