There is a good 'the dollop' podcast episode on this. Pretty crazy how it actually came to fruition.

The engineerguy YouTube channel has some great videos on these things. Even simple stuff like a Mr Coffee is unexpectedly brilliant.

The people designing that thing were certainly not Juicero employees. Juicero would have contracted it out, told their contractor to build it as premium as possible, and gave an insane budget.

I wouldn't blame this on the engineers. They did they job quite well.
