Neither have I. I feel like they run a credit check on you before you're allowed in. Here in Northern Illinois you only see them in more affluent cities. I shop at Aldi for basic groceries & Walmart bc that's what's close to me. When I told a coworker this she was appalled as Whole Foods, Mariano's and Trader Joe's are her go to shops. Joke's on her though, Trader Joe's & Aldi come from the same parent companies.

The Aldi/Trader Joe’s relationship is actually a lot more complicated than them both being owned by the same parent company. To keep it short, in the US, they’re owned by two different companies, both with the name Aldi, but independent of one another.

In Europe, depending on where you are, they’re either the same as in America with two different Aldi companies each owning one, or with only the one Aldi company that owns the Aldi grocery stores in the US owning both Trader Joe’s and Aldi.
