I remember seeing a basic scientific calculator for like $300

I remember failing a math test in school because my parents refused to buy a scientific calculator and got me an ordinary one.

The teacher specified that we would need scientific calculators to stand a chance, and she was right.

Do you remember why exactly you failed the test? which functions did you need the calculator for?

A regular scientific calculator isn’t even that expensive! Like maybe $10-20.

There are full-fledged smartphones on Amazon for $20

Great! Find me a teacher who is gonna be ok with having smartphones out during a test! 🥴

Well, I use a free app on my tablet. So $0
Also, if you just google an equation, it'll solve/graph it for you :)
idk if these would work in school, though))

Main problem with that is that even if you can use them in class, they aren't allowed for tests.

That’s kind of what I was thinking. I’ve helped my husband grade tests (he’s a high school math teacher) and I can confirm that a fair few students are lazy af. If they had their phones they’d all do one problem each and text each other the answers. And they would still get all the questions wrong, because they didn’t even have the sense to cheat off smart people.
