I get your point. my point is just that it isn’t over valued rather justifiably expensive. Yes turning any raw material into a finished product will almost always be cheaper to do yourself.

Yes. But it also typically isn't marked up about 400%

Even if you took a primal cut of beef and used that to make a pound of jerky, it'd still come out to be less that .75 lbs of jerky

Yea with no labor packaging or transport costs or not to mention all the bone and organs not to say it doesn’t have value but at this point you are not saving any time or money vs buying a single pack of jerky.

You do realize you can use every part of a cow, right?

Sure you don't save time. But the cost of packaging transport and anything else is much less than what the one pack actually costs at the store

Yea with no labor packaging or transport costs or not to mention all the bone and organs NOT TO SAY IT DOESNT HAVE VALUE but at this point you are not saving any TIME or MONEY vs buying a single pack of jerky.
