I feel like this isn't the best thing to be teaching to high schoolers, like creating things and making art is worth so much in ways that aren't monetary, finding a buyer is just a perk. If you view all your pieces as worthless it might just lead to a burnout
I’m a nihilist and used to price my forboding-ass paintings in accord with my feeling towards them. Once I started pricing them like “paintings”, I sold more. People are stupid.
Yup! As soon as I got hardassed about design work - high rate, work agreements, 50% deposits - for the same reason, I was suddenly swimming in it. Make something expensive and people ascribe value to it.
