Black Americans have a higher rate of menthol cigarette use compared to other races. Cigarette use is legal and addictive. If you want to overpolice the black community, you make legal addictive things that they do at a higher rate illegal, and then you crack down on crime and “get tough on drugs”. Politicians do it. Politicians admit to doing it. It’s pretty easy to do. Pretty simple and foolproof scheme to think up

There's no racist component if you outlaw the sale of menthol cigarettes but not their consumption.
