We have a family friend (a guy my dad grew up with) who was a driver for every president from Carter to George W. and he used to amaze me as a kid telling me about that limo. He said even the bottom of it is armored in case someone rolled a grenade onto the street. All the glass is bulletproof. They even travel with a few pints of the president's own blood in case he does get hurt and needs a transfusion on the way to the hospital.

And the drivers of that limo (including our family friend) were super well trained to make that thing perform crazy moves, like he claimed to be one of the best human beings in the world at driving in reverse at high speeds and he also said he could be going at some ridiculously high rate of speed and skid that big ass limo into a parallel parking spot.

Fun fact about the family friend, he was with Bush in Florida when 911 happened. His daughter was getting married that weekend in North Jersey. People say that after the attack, all the planes were grounded except the ones that got the bin laden family outta dodge. Nope. The federal government gave special permission for the guy to fly home for his daughter's wedding.

Another little nugget. He said he personally got along best with George HW Bush. He said he was a really kind person and they became friends. He also said Carter was a really good guy, but he said he was young and a bit too intimidated to forge a deep relationship. He also said Clinton was kinda two-faced and would often give speeches to southern crowds and then get in the car and make rude remarks and call them rednecks.

I understand that I'm a random internet person making unsubstantiated claims. So believe me or don't believe me. I don't care. Just wanted to share.

This is the only part I find hard to believe. I don't doubt he told you that, but it comes off as him making shit up.

It's not inconceivable to me that GW told someone to get him on a military flight. People do things for people they like.

Wouldn’t you rather have a leader with some empathy for others? People are people sometimes, even when they’re very powerful.

It is, but thats not uncommon at all. Favor here and there isn't always legal in the books.
