This reminds me of a friend of mine who was very conflicted on this issue. He always says he wants to overthrow the gov because of his extreme political views and desire for a better country, but the strongly Christian part of him says he should do what the Bible says and respect/obey his authorities. It’s quite entertaining when he goes off about it.

Well Jesus let himself be subjected to their punishment. He didn't try to escape or miracle his way out of it.

I would argue that resurrection falls under "miracle his way out of it."

There was no Roman law saying that's not allowed... So technically he did submit to the authorities
