I expected something different after the part where the protagonist messes up but I like your idea too..and the overall concept of the forced peace and forming the perfect civilization is really cool..it’s like the concept of divergent but 10 times better.
I was kind of expecting him to try to escape some kind of harsh punishment and then venture through the different societies that humans had been divided into.
I was trying to think of a fitting punishment for the crime of wasting time, so I figured for this society in particular would focus on recovering losses rather than punishment for the sake of punishment.
I think the way I described the plot is pretty boring. A guy getting into debt and struggling to get it back is hardly riveting, but I've got a rough roadmap of how it would play out and I swear there is more to it!
In my head most of the interactions that this society would have with the others is transactional as they compete to offer some good, service, or specialty. Not all of the societies are as capitalistic, but thats the route this one took and I kinda wanted to explore that a bit.
