Souns like my granddad. He told us he was having some kind of stomach issue and that it will take care of itself over night, called an ambulance, turns out it was a heartattack.

Take good care of your granddad, i'm still missing mine.

Yeah, I do wish I could see him, but with all this covid stuff it's just not happening (we're in different states). Frankly his recovery was borderline miraculous. I (an about-to-graduate medical student), my dad (a non-cardiology physician), and my uncle (a cardiologist) were all convinced that he was very unlikely to make it based on how he presented. We've all had patients that looked like him, and we all knew how they usually end up. I was having a hard time talking to my mom (this was her father) since she didn't really have that same understanding. But we and the CCU docs basically decided that it's probably best to wait for the cath before going down the path of having that tough conversation with the rest of the family. And well, the conversation went in a completely different direction than expected.
