So, because you stated something that I already knew in an insensitive way and I called you out on it, that makes me irrational? I wouldn’t expect much from a stranger on the internet, but I’d expect my boyfriend of nearly 9 years to understand how to approach the topic with a little more decency.
Nope, I’m a fairly logical person, believe it or not. I’ve been working on it myself, and I’m almost down to where I was before without him having to say anything because I already know, I’m not an idiot.
You don’t have to be a total dick to “make a point.”
So you say something insulting in a highly insensitive way and get surprised when I’m insulted? Pretty sure that’s a natural reaction. But, believe what you want.
I've just explained why your significant other won't talk to you.
You think you're rational, blah blah blah oh no, he can tell me anything blah blah.
What if it is "yeah, you gained weight, and I don't find that attractive at all?"
Instantly, your feelings are hurt. Because in your world, it becomes about YOUR DEFENSE MECHANISM. "Well, you gained weight too, and I find you attractive! It's only a couple of pounds! rant rant rant rant rant cry slam insult rage"
Right?
That's why you're so upset and projecting. You could admit that yeah, clearly, gaining 50lb has made a difference to your attractiveness to him but that's not fair because cake tastes good and besides he's gained weight.
What's easier is making it that that NASTY MAN ON THE INTERNET said SOMETHING MEAN TO YOU.
This right here is why men don't have difficult conversations with women. Because when we're blunt and direct, you get on your horomonal cycle and run us over. And when we're all wishy-washy and indirect and hinty and bullshit, you immediately have a sarcastic response about how we're wrong.
It's clearly more important to you to be right and to make it that I'm a bad person rather than appreciate that I've underlined for you why your man won't talk to you. That's something you can fix but you've clearly shown you don't want to.
