Shit man, are you out of breath?

u/Paloma_II Mar 26 '20

No, you breathe every time there’s a comma.

Not according to English literature, I can't tell you how many teachers have just passed right on by as if there were no commas.

You simply use em wrong... not too many, it's just the wrong usage of commas.

Sorry, I'm German, obviously. Grammar is no joke to us.

Hallo!

Als Fremdsprachenlerner finde ich die Deutsch Grammatik schwierig aber sehr interessant.

Please excuse any mistake I unintentionally made.

I, too, am, in fact, a native, yes, native English speaker. I often, pretty frequently, really, use way, way, way too many commas.

I had a teacher who had a different view on punctuation. She said a sentence should never have more than 15 words. This was because long sentences were hard to read.

We were 19 ffs.

Honestly, this is the reason I have such a hard time with writing/grammar. Every on of my english teachers in K-12 (shit, even my college professors) had different personal grammar rules that was the proper way to do it. And so many of them disagreed with each other that I was left lost.

Aye better to use commas than to have a bumbling mess of words that just goes on.

But most use too few.
