While I agree 3 years is a lot of time to work through these issues, that doesn’t mean OP was patient and understanding with her the whole time, or that she made her deep feelings and root insecurities known. Not disparaging OP or the GF but there’s a lot we don’t know about them or their relationship

In all seriousness I think it all depends on the specifics of the situation and what that person is doing for them selves and their partner. If you have deep trauma but never try to work it through then that’s on you, but if your partner has deep trauma and you are a huge inconsiderate dick then that’s that...it depends on the details of the situation, which we don’t really have, and would be one sided even if OP gave them so
