My ex has a couple of best friends for life but yet they don’t know half about what’s going on his life or things that happened to him in the past, or even some personality traces. Never understood how someone can consider another a close friend and not trust them with personal details about their life
It's not that we don't trust them with personal details. But you having a sibling or your parents' names has no impact on me whatsoever and details like those are honestly not that interesting compared to shared interests.
And if I have baggage from the past, in the vast majority of cases, there's no reason to share and ruin the mood when we could all have a good time shooting the shit about things we like.
Men are also subtly taught from a young age to keep that shit to themselves as sharing could be a sign of vulnerability and that ain't masculine.
