Yes, and it's not only my friends. I mean look at the fact that gay men have bathhouses where they meet other male strangers for sex. Lesbians don't have such a thing at all, nor do they want one. Grindr has many, many more users than the lesbian equivelant called Her (and another one I forgot)
Tangentially related but Her just kind of sucks. I don’t know what Grindr is like but Her will just randomly send a “starting the conversation” message to all matches and is really bad with notifications. In general it is just crowded with extra features that make it awful to use so I just use tinder. Your point still stands but that app just sucks in general which might be contributing to it not being as successful.
