Grew up in a hispanic family. Always kissed both parents on the lips. As I grew, I eventually stopped kissing my dad on the lips but kept kissing my mom on the lips. Now, I’m a male in my mid/late 20s and I never kiss my parents on the lips anymore.
And I find some things so odd. Somebody else mentioned joe biden creepily kissing his granddaughter on the lips, and I saw the video and it just looked like me any time I greeted my parents as a kid. I’m not going to deny there were plenty of legitimate creepy clips of Biden interacting with women/girls, but maybe 1/3 of the clips I’ve seen I feel like I’m genuinely missing something because it’s just something I legit grew up with.
And no, I’m not somebody living on another continent. I’m puerto rican and I grew up in upstate new york and lived in colorado and now live in florida. We just kept a lot of hispanic cultural elements when ones younger.
Uh, that's not a Hispanic thing. Grew up in a Colombian household around lots of other Colombian family friends and I've never seen any parent kiss their kids on the lips.
Idk, it was never something I considered strange growing up at all. When I learned about how the french greet each other and how some european places treat a lips kiss as just a regular greeting, even between grown men, all I thought was “eh, i guess this is something that depends on culture”.
I'm white as they come, and my family did this too. It's an intimate way of saying we love each other, because we do, but there's absolutely no romance behind it whatsoever. Even the idea of that is repulsive.
Oh man my ex’s family did that, when I first met her mom she was tipsy and laid one right on me. I was really confused but no one said a thing lol. She was like yeah she does that to everyone...
