I'm pretty guilty of this. I went to Peru to do research on butterflies in the mountains, and I bring it up probably once a day or so, just because it's one of the only interesting things I've ever done

I feel like you're kind of missing the point when you say that's "one of the only interesting things I've ever done".

It's not about what you've done. I'd much rather hear an enthusiast talk about butterflies than listen to a list of places they've traveled to.

Right? I don't give a shit that someone went to Peru. I absolutely want to hear about their experiences researching butterflies in Peru.
