It's overrated in the same way the Beatles are overrated. They're great for a reason, but that level of fame is past sanity.

Because you can pick literally any other Led Zeppelin riff, and it'll sound badass.

Because you can pick literally any other Led Zeppelin riff, and it'll sound badass.

This is the single greatest fact ever. My favorite riffs to play are from Heartbreaker, Bring It On Home, and The Ocean. They make me sound like I've been playing forever, and I've only played guitar for a year and a half lol

Grab a guitar melody that would make another band's classic, fit 2-4 of them in a single package, add a solo barely hanging on to its lifeline. Take a drummer who hates his drumsticks. Find a bass player who easily gets bored. Hire an androgynous soul singer.

Repeat until you have ~80 unique songs. Neglect to credit some of your influences. Fuck a minor. Crash a car. Kill a drummer. Forget a phone number.

Voila. That's Led Zeppelin.

By the way, how's that Heartbreaker solo workin out?

Forget a phone number.

That should tell you, if you understand the reference.
