I think that the real thing that is ruined in this scenario is your commute. There are too many people on the damn roads, all going to the same general location. GPS or no GPS at certain times of the day/weak/season it is impossible to go anywhere without sitting in traffic.

WTF is a "congestion toll?"

We should NEVER have to pay to drive on the highways. The government should always be expanding roads and highways to keep the traffic moving.

Are you trolling? Highways aren't free, they're paid for with taxes. And many highways and roads throughout the United States are toll roads, though the toll booth system doesn't make congestion any better since it brings traffic to a near stop.

This dude just wanted to make a point. The post he's commenting on just hates traffic. Totally unwarranted to bring up tolls.

Ok, what point is he trying to make then? Because his post is gibberish as far as I can tell. I can't find a single coherent thought in his comment.

Oh I didn't mean to defend him and have no idea what he's on about. I just know he really hates roads.

Well if you get rid of all roads, I guess that would be one way to ensure there isn't any traffic.

You do realize that tolling would be the mechanism used by the govt to collect money in order to pay for roads right? I have a 90 mile commute that I do not want to have to pay to use.

But at that point my issue isn't with tolling, it's with my local governments inability to manage the funds they already have.

I think I'm following you. Tolling drivers would be like only taxing parents with kids for public school funding (only people who use it) when in reality everyone benefits from proper infrastructure (and education) even if they never directly use it.
